The beginning motivation to learn how to design cakes was to give a surprise for my son's (Andrew) 18 years old birthday. Now Cake Designing has became one of my favorite hobbies.

Pineapple Cake For February Birthday Star
This cake was finished in a very short amount of time. Ryan's birthday was on Friday, but he had to leave the office earlier on that day. So we decided to celebrate his birthday on Thursday. Beth told me about making a cake on Monday. So on Wednesday I baked a cake. Then on Thurday morning I made butter cream for the decoration. I probably would make another cake for our church's small group , so I thought I would decorate Ryan's cake Thursday night (I forgot what Beth told me). On Thurday morning, Beth called and remind me, "Melinda, please don't forget we will celebrate Ryan's birthday today." Oh, My God, I was about to go to office but I hadn't decorated his cake. Thank God, I already finished his birthday card yesterday otherwise it was impossible to finish two things in very short time.
I ran to the kitchen, and took out everything I already prepared yesterday, but in my mind I had not prepared how I will decorate the cake. I prayed before starting to design it . I looked inside my pantry room to see what I could find to decorate it. Because the cake was designed for a male, I decided not to put flowers decorations on his cake. I had a can of pineapples along with pineapple paste, blue color icing to match the blue birthday card I made for him. After I prayed, many ideas kept coming out of my mind. and I took these ideas to design and finish my cake. Thank God for giving me creative ideas for this cake in very short time.
